We all have souls. For which we are called animals. On the other hand motorcycles, cars also have life although they are not called animals. The engine is the lifeblood of motorcycles and cars. We need food to live and survive. Similarly, car engine needs engine oil. This is the main food of the engine. There are several types of engine oil. For example: synthetic, mineral, semi synthetic engine oil. Now I will know which engine oil is better for car or motorcycle engine through a discussion.

why is synthetic oil better than mineral oil

    What is mineral oil:

After refining the crude oil released from nature, if it is used to run the car engine, then it is called mineral engine oil. However, no chemicals are added to this mineral oil. That is, the oil obtained from nature is used for the car engine after it has been well refined. Mineral engines are mainly derived from crude oil.

is synthetic oil better than mineral oil

    Synthetic Oil:

To ensure the best and highest performance of the car engine, the oils which are made by adding highly refined and necessary chemicals are called synthetic oils. The main reason for adding chemicals to synthetic oil is to increase engine performance.

    Semi Synthetic Oil:

Apart from mineral oil and synthetic oil, there is another engine oil in the market which is called semi synthetic oil. And this oil basically means a mixture of mineral oil and synthetic oil. In simple terms, the definition of this is that the engine oil that contains both natural and synthetic oils is called semi-synthetic oil.

Semi synthetic oil is mainly made by adding synthetic oil to mineral oil to increase its performance. However, in the proportion of mixing of these two types of oil, the maximum amount of synthetic oil is 30%. The remaining 70% is mineral oil.

mineral oil vs synthetic oil motorcycles

To know which engine oil is best, we need to understand the advantages and disadvantages of all engine oils.

    Advantages of Mineral Engines:

    1. The cost of mineral engines is very low. So low that it sells for water compared to other car or motorbike items. And the main reason is that this engine oil is naturally extracted.
    2. Mineral engine oil is readily available. And more importantly, it is available everywhere.
    3. Many people wonder whether the engine oil can meet the needs of the car or not. Mineral engine oil is able to meet the needs of the car. And this engine oil does not contain any kind of chemicals.

    Disadvantages of mineral engine oil:

    1. Mineral engine oil does not last long. That is, after a few days it has to be changed.
    2. Basically engine oil contains different types of chemicals to increase the performance of the vehicle. But mineral engine oil does not contain any kind of chemicals.
    3. It is impossible to get good engine performance all the time.
    4. Loses density quickly and becomes thin.
    5. The knocking of the engine increased.
    6. This mineral engine oil cannot work properly at high temperature and cold.

Now I will discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of synthetic oil.

    Advantages of synthetic oil:

    1. Works at higher and higher temperatures without any problems.
    2. Very effective in low and cold temperatures.
    3. Friction and knocking are reduced thereby increasing engine durability.
    4. It does not dilute easily so there is no chance of evaporation.
    5. Synthetic oil does not allow dirt to accumulate in the engine. And keeps the engine dust clean.
    6. Synthetic oil engines last longer.
    7. This synthetic oil is highly refined and contains no harmful chemicals.

    Disadvantages of synthetic oil:

    1. Synthetic oil is more expensive than mineral oil.
    2. Everyone is more or less aware of mineral oil but not everyone is aware of synthetic oil. For which controversy is created constantly.
    3. It is very expensive to use this synthetic oil in low cc cars or motorbikes. Many see this as a luxury.
    4. Synthetic oil is not available everywhere for urgent needs. Because its demand is not good everywhere, it is not possible to get it.

Now we will know what an ideal engine oil looks like. And what kind of engine oil is required for a car or motor bike.

    • You must use synthetic engine oil to ensure maximum vehicle performance.
    • Synthetic engine oil is very expensive and also mineral engine oil should be used if your car has low cc.
    • If your car is regularly tripped and used for a long time, conventional oil cannot completely burn the excess moisture in the engine. In this case, car and motor bike engineers think it is better to use synthetic oil.
    • Many complain that synthetic oil is not available when required. Mineral engine oils are more widely available than synthetic oils. Since the price is very low and available everywhere, regular mineral engine oil can be used.
    • Synthetic engine oil is better if you think about the environment. Mineral engine oil is not too bad. However, synthetic engine oil is slightly better refined and does not contain any harmful chemicals.

Synthetic engine oil or mineral engine oil, this debate has been going on for a long time. But one must have the right idea before taking part in the debate. If not, how can you judge good and bad? In the eyes of many, there is no alternative to synthetic engine oil. But this is a complete misconception. Engine oil should be fixed according to the car or motor bike.

Using synthetic engine oil for a low cc car is unwise. Because its price is high, these should not be used in cars or motorbikes. Also, engine oil should be changed every few days. So after thinking about all the pros and cons, you have to make a decision. I think both synthetic and mineral engine oils are better. But they have to be used by understanding cars and motorbikes.
