Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I was skeptical. Worried it was gonna be a big rip off. Even when it was unwrapped I was skeptical on it’s durability. I tried it and on. And it went over my huge jacket ! Easy! The pants went over my pants easy! It goes on over clothes easy. Next I went on a e bike ride to work in it. It was 25 mph winds and I just wore the jacket. My legs were cold but my upper body felt great 😄 later that night I was lot directing the spurs game and the winds picked up again! This time I threw the whole suit on easy. If you want to take shoes off before putting on pants that’s your thing but I didn’t want to drag dirt threw mine so I take shoes off before sliding on the leg part of suit over my pants, anyways. It worked like it should. The 25 mph wind and 36 degrees weather was no issue. Durability I think is not bad. I went out side and my nephew’s pit bull was loose and she gets excited to see me every time. She ran at me and clawed the leg and the suit held. So it seems fairly strong for the cash spent. The suit is good. Not amazing. Not super fantastic. It’s good. And that’s the truth. On a budget but still want quality. This will work.”

Customer Review: “We bought a medium for a 5’8 155 lb man and these were huge on him. They are made out of thin material and looks like they can easily rip. We returned these and bought another brand.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I’m honestly very impressed with this rain suit – first off it comes in a nice bag that contains the pants and jacket that is easy to just throw into the pack. They both are pretty decent quality rain gear that sheds moisture effectively and offers a fair amount of breathability. I have lived in them for 2 days straight during a steady rain storm in the mountains while hiking around and was able to adjust them enough to keep airflow going through the jacket and not get soaked in the process. I haven’t been in any torrential downpour to truly test them out but I have a feeling they will hold up fairly well. The fit is great, and look is nice for how affordable this 2 piece set is – often this cheap of gear looks very cheap and I even got a compliment on how nice it looked – although I think they were envious of me bringing rain pants while they only had a rain jacket with soaking wet legs. I am 6’4″ and 220lbs”

Customer Review: “Very nice. Kept me dry on my last hunting trip. My only complaint is the hood is a little big.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Although i did not like the pants i have to give this seller 5 stars. after i left my review thee seller contacted me and offered a full refund. i accepted. this is exceptional customer service. 5 stars.this outfit feel more like a sauna suit. it get very hot very fast when working in warm temps. the pants are way too long. the must be 36 inseam. there is no elastic at the ankles so the pants drag on the ground. i cut them to my length then they looked awful and started splitting. the jacket was good”

Customer Review: “I’ve been using the AMKsedom rain suit for almost a year. Overall it’s a medium-quality product: it does a good job in light rain and keeps you dry for short showers. However, in heavy rain water tends to filter in around the chest area and you’ll get wet.The reflective parts are very good and so far haven’t broken or peeled. Seams and material have held up reasonably well for everyday use, but don’t expect it to stand up to prolonged, heavy downpours. Good budget option for light weather and visibility, not ideal for long or intense rain.”

A nice light weight design that folds nicely and can be stored in your pocket for those unexpected showers. Not bulky at all and It fits and wears easily. I’ve had several of these and they’re not that expensive so I don’t feel bad about someone walking off with it. Great emergency jacket too.”

Customer Review: “The only thing that bothers me is not one single pocket. Other than that, it’s so packable, I carry it everywhere. Lightweight as all get out, great for being caught in unexpected rainstorms. I wouldn’t use it as my main raincoat in a rain storm I was wanting to be out in for a while but this is great for carrying around all the time ‘just in case’. The color has some darker patches on it , which look like stains but I haven’t stained it. I don’t care about that though. Zipper works great. If i had it to do over again I’d get one with at least one pocket in it but hey. I wasn’t thinking.I have no intention of every getting rid of this jacket as I rely on it heavily for peace of mind. As long as I have this thing on me my phone /wallet/etc won’t get wet!”

  • Lacks pockets and access slits to pants underneath.
  • No zipper access for bathroom breaks, which can be inconvenient.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “since these wont be used unless its raining, i am not worried about the material lasting forever. these are not the kind of item to last years when used daily but they will be fine when used in the car for rain and can be used in the winter for wind protection and heat retention. they fit just fine as well over regular clothing so you dont need to take off clothes to wear this over it. AFTER SOME USAGE THE JACKET IS STILL IN TACT AND DOES ITS JOB, BUT THE PANTS HAVE NEARLY SPLIT IN TWO FROM JUST ONE OR TWO TIMES OF BENDING TO PICK UP SOMETHING FROM THE GROUND. THEY ARE STILL USABLE IN KEEPING THE LEGS DRY FOR NOW, BUT IT WONT BE LONG BEFORE THEY SPLIT COMPLETELY AND ARE NO LONGER DOING THEIR JOB. THEY ARE A CHEAP ITEM FOR AN EMERGENCY BUT DONT COUNT ON ANY LONG TERM USAGE.”

Customer Review: “My husband is a conductor for the Rail Road and has to get off the train in wet conditions many times. He needed a rain suit that can be carried with him in his backpack and not take up much room. I found this one by Frogg Toggs and he loves it. The price was right so I purchased it. It is very light weight and takes up minimal room in his back pack. He loves the Khaki color instead of the normal banana yellow. We ordered it in XL and it fit him perfectly over his work clothes. The last suit he had we ordered a 2XL thinking he would need the extra room since he’s a XL/2XL in clothes. He’s 6’0 tall and weighs about 230 lbs. and the XL fit him nicely not too tight or too loose. The quality is a little better than expected for an inexpensive suit, and the Frogg Toggs is a reputable brand. It comes in a nice bag that you can fold the suit back into when not in use. Here are the pros and cons of this set as we found them even with several cons this set still gets a slid 5 stars from us.Pros:-Great Price-Many Sizes and Colors Available-Fit Wonderfully-Very Lightweight, Great when you have minimal storage-Material is breathable and moveableCons:-No access slits to pants underneath.-No pockets in Jacket or Pants. (Guess that’s to help keep out the rain)-No zipper access for using the bathroom.-Might could use a drawstring on the pants.-The material tears easy if it gets caught but can be repaired with duct tape easily-No elastic bottoms on pants and this would be helpful.A few suggestions as this is our second rain suit purchase. Our first was Dri-Ducks by Frogg Toggs. BTW we like this set better but I digress. First suggestion. Order your size, don’t order a size bigger thinking you’ll need it bigger to go over your clothes. The product allows for clothing underneath in it’s design. I would suggest this for yard work, dog walking, and working conditions where there’s not a lot of strenous movement. I would not suggest it for motorcycle gear.*I paid full price for this product and hope that you have found this review useful to you in some way.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Motorcycle Rain Gear

Essential Factors We Consider

When you’re out looking for the best motorcycle rain gear, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First and foremost, waterproofing is critical. Look for gear with sealed seams and quality waterproof materials like Gore-Tex, PVC, or treated polyester. But it’s not just about keeping water out; it’s also about letting sweat escape. That’s why breathability is equally important. A breathable membrane prevents that clammy feeling and keeps you comfortable on long rides. Nobody wants to feel like they’re riding in a sauna!

Next, consider the fit and coverage. You want rain gear that fits comfortably over your existing riding apparel without being too baggy, which can cause flapping at high speeds. Full suits offer maximum protection, while two-piece sets provide more versatility. Also, think about features like adjustable cuffs, collars, and leg openings to ensure a tight seal against water intrusion. Finally, visibility is paramount, especially when riding in reduced light or heavy rain. Reflective elements are a huge plus for safety.

Budget Planning

Investing in good motorcycle rain gear doesn’t necessarily mean breaking the bank, but it’s important to set a realistic budget. You can find excellent options across different price points. More expensive gear often offers advanced materials (like higher-end Gore-Tex), better breathability, and more sophisticated features like integrated storage or specialized motorcycle-specific cuts. However, there are plenty of affordable motorcycle rain gear options that still provide dependable waterproof protection.

Remember, the goal is to stay dry and safe. Prioritize core functionalities like waterproofing, breathability, and visibility, and then look for additional features that fit your riding style and budget. Sometimes, a well-chosen budget-friendly option can outperform an ill-fitting, pricier one. Weigh your needs against the cost, and don’t be afraid to read customer reviews for real-world feedback on durability and performance.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right riding rain gear is a personal decision based on your typical riding conditions, comfort preferences, and budget. Whether you opt for a lightweight, packable emergency suit or a robust, full-featured one-piece, the right gear will enhance your riding experience by keeping you dry and focused. We hope this guide helps you navigate the options and find the perfect waterproof gear for bikers to conquer any wet weather Mother Nature throws your way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is breathable motorcycle rain gear important?

A: Breathable motorcycle rain gear is crucial because it allows moisture vapor (sweat) from your body to escape while preventing rain from coming in. Without breathability, even waterproof gear can leave you feeling wet and clammy from your own perspiration, making the ride uncomfortable and potentially causing chilling.

Q: Should I choose a one-piece or two-piece motorcycle rain suit?

A: Both one-piece and two-piece motorcycle rain suits have their advantages. A one-piece suit offers maximum waterproof integrity with no gaps for water to seep through, making it excellent for heavy downpours. However, it can be harder to put on and take off, and less versatile. A two-piece suit (jacket and pants) offers more flexibility, easier on/off, and allows you to wear just the jacket or pants if only partial protection is needed. The best choice depends on your preference for ease of use versus ultimate seal.

Q: How do I properly size motorcycle rain gear?

A: Motorcycle rain gear is typically designed to be worn over your regular riding jacket and pants. Therefore, it’s usually sized generously. It’s generally recommended to order your normal clothing size, or sometimes one size up if you wear very bulky riding gear underneath. Always check the manufacturer’s sizing chart and customer reviews for specific fit recommendations. You want it roomy enough to go over your gear easily, but not so baggy that it flaps excessively in the wind.

Q: Can I use regular rain gear for motorcycling?

A: While regular rain gear can offer some protection, it’s generally not ideal for motorcycling. Motorcycle rain gear is specifically designed to withstand higher speeds, provide better durability against abrasion, and often includes features like reflective elements for visibility, longer cuts to prevent water from riding up, and reinforced seams for riding posture. Regular rain gear might not hold up to the wind at speed and could allow water penetration more easily.

Q: How do I care for my motorcycle rain gear?

A: Proper care extends the life of your waterproof motorcycle suit. Always follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions, which often recommend gentle washing with specific detergents (or none at all) and air drying. Avoid harsh detergents, fabric softeners, and tumble drying, as these can degrade the waterproof coating or membrane. Regularly clean off dirt and grime to prevent material breakdown and ensure optimal performance.

Choosing the best motorcycle rain gear is an investment in your comfort, safety, and enjoyment on the road. With the right waterproof protection, you’ll never have to cut a ride short because of a sudden shower again. We hope our comprehensive guide and top product reviews have equipped you with the knowledge to make an informed decision.
