Motorcycle engine oil flush good or bad?- Explain Here

Various types of dirt inside the engine are cleaned through the flush process. Flushing after a certain time is very good for the engine. ) but due to the lack of proper rules, this flush process is often given incorrectly which can cause damage to the engine.

Today in this post I will discuss why to flush the engine, how flush oil works, how to flush and which brand of flush oil to use.

Why is the engine flush necessary?

We use mineral oil as 95-99% user engine oil. Besides, many people use synthetic or semi-synthetic oils, which are mostly group-3 base oils derived from minerals or group-3 mixed mineral oils.

A negative side of mineral oil is that when it comes into contact with oxygen at high temperature while the engine is running, it reacts with oxygen in a very slow process to form another molecule. (Simply put in chemical terms, this is that the outer hydrogen atom of the molecule of the long hydrocarbon chain of mineral oil is removed, and the oxygen atom itself enters through a very complex reaction. Then some of the hydrocarbon molecules of other substances becomes a molecule)

The substance that these molecules create is known as “Oil Sludge”.

This sludge material is not completely liquid, it becomes a partially solid or colloidal solid because it comes out of the oil phase, which partially floats on top of the liquid engine oil (detergent left after washing clothes with too much detergent). Like the scum that floats in the water).

n addition, mineral oil contains sulfur-like substances that form sludge.

This sludge is harmful to the engine which causes the following damages:-

  • There are many small holes in the oil ring of the piston, which allow some of the engine oil sprayed on the piston-cylinder surface during engine running to lubricate the piston-connecting rod bearings. Engine oil sludge is the smallest of these pistons

Partially closes the small pores in a long-term process. As a result, lack of proper lubrication damages the connecting rod bearing of the piston.

– There is an air passage hole inside the engine which slowly closes or partially closes the sludge.

-Various bearings and gears inside the engine reduce the working capacity of the pinion.

  • Creates a dirt layer inside engine parts.

Besides, in the case of diesel engines, because diesel contains sulfur, it produces very small amounts of sulfuric acid, which creates acidic sludge and creates a layer in the engine (however, the TBN value of diesel engine oil is kept high so that this acid does not harm the engine).

For these reasons, cleaning this sludge with engine flush oil after a time brings many benefits for the engine.

Benefits of flushing:

– Engine will release sludge.

  • The yellowness or blackishness of the engine parts will be completely clean.
    – Engine life will increase
  • The engine can deliver max power and the bike feels a little smoother due to the cleanliness of the bearings and pistons.
    – Mileage increases slightly (if dirt is built up earlier)
    – The gear becomes smooth.
  • The valve is clean, the holes of the piston ring are completely clean.
  • Due to the cleaning of the timing chain, its sound is slightly reduced or smooth.
-The air passing hole inside the engine is clean because the air passing is good, which reduces the engine overheating.

What is flush oil?

In short, it is a solution or liquid made from a combination of some detergent chemicals made up of non-polar detergent and surfactant molecules. It reduces the surface tension of solid, semi-solid or soft sludge, dissolves it and takes the sludge to liquid state and mixes it with engine oil.

How to flush?

Flushing is good for the engine, but if the flushing system is not done correctly, it will cause a lot of damage to the engine!!! Flush very carefully.

Rules:

  1. If you want to flush, then flush the next time it is time to change the engine oil.
  2. Place the bike on a double stand and ensure that the rear wheel can rotate freely.
  3. There is old oil inside the engine, give 70-100ml (maximum 100ml) flush oil with that oil! Don’t forget to take out the old oil and flush with only flush oil!!!

Don’t forget the full bottle of flush oil Dhalabenna !! A full bottle usually contains 443ml of flush oil which is fully used in cars with 5-8 liter engine oil chamber, but bike oil chamber max is 1 liter (1200ml is also available). Flush oil has no lubricity, it actually reduces the lubricity of engine oil.

So with 1 liter of engine oil if you pour full 443 ml of flush oil with 1 liter of oil then the flush oil will greatly reduce the lubricity of the engine oil which will wear down the piston during flushing!!! Everyone makes this mistake commonly flush

At the time of giving, I said it emphatically. Be very careful at this point!

  1. Then start the bike softly and keep the bike at idle rpm (1000-1200) for 10-12 minutes. Don’t forget the throttle

On time!! This 10-12 minutes on the throttle is a sin

  1. In these 10-12 minutes you will hold the clutch and undo all the gears several times, so the dirt inside the gear pinion will be clean.
  2. After 10-12 minutes stop the bike and open the drain nut and let the oil drain. Allow the oil to drain for at least 20 minutes so that the oil comes out to the last drop.
  3. Bikes which have external foam oil filter (like yamaha fzs-fazer, SZ-R, tvs Apache rtr, suzuki Gixxer, Gs-150R, bajaj discover, pulsar As & LS, Keeway er 125 and 150 cc bikes etc) must be flushed after Engine oil filter should be changed.
  4. After all, new engine oil should be poured. This new oil should be run 200-300 km less than its optimal drain period because the smallest amount of flush oil residue inside the engine degrades the new engine oil slightly. So if you put mineral oil then drain the new oil at 700 km. Drain from 2nd oil to general interval.

After how many km to flush?

Flushing is good for the engine, but not the engine which will be badly damaged. If you use KO mineral oil regularly, it will be good to flush once after 10-15 thousand km. And if you use synthetic oil after 20-22 thousand km for good engine.

Which flush oil should I use?

Mannol flush oil is available in local market. Also some good online pages are OWS of Germany, Quaker City of America. Besides, Liqui Moly is also available in the market. You can use any of these.

Don’t forget to use kerosene, petrol or diesel as flush oil!!!
