Gears are one of the most important parts of a motor bike. The gear basically acts as a switch to transfer engine power to the wheels. When you are changing gears and doing it normally, then there is no problem. But if there is any kind of noise or knocking during the gear change, it should be understood that there is a problem somewhere. Today we will discuss, why the gear of the bike is hard?

If the engine oil is old

Due to the direct contact of the gear shifter with the engine oil, the gear is smooth and hard due to the lubrication of the engine oil. So it is just as important that you are using the right grade and quality engine oil and changing it at regular intervals. If you use very old engine oil or do not use engine oil of specific grade and quality, there is a possibility that the gear of your bike will become hard.

If the class adjustment is not correct

The class on the left hand side of our handle bar is very important. If the freeplay of the class is not properly aligned, the gear may be tight.

The freeplay of the bike clutch is usually of two types, a smooth freeplay and another initial or ready-pickup. If your bike has a smooth pickup, if you fix it according to the initials, then your class freeplay will not be correct and your gear will be stiff.

If not serviced for a long time

Besides, this can happen due to not servicing the bike for a long time, i.e. not doing regular maintenance and parts replacement of the bike, as a solution, the bike should be serviced and all the necessary parts should be changed.

    If the bike is new

It usually takes a while for the engine of a new motorcycle to break free. This is called the engine braking period. During this engine braking the gear is usually a bit stiff. Long time running causes the gear to become smooth. So if you feel a little stiff after buying a new bike, then there is no reason to panic, it will gradually get fixed without needing to go to a separate service or add any parts.

If the clutch plate is damaged

When shifting gears you hold the clutch lever fully, shift to low and your clutch lever is adjusted correctly. But even after that there is bad noise during gear change. So? Then you must understand that your bike’s clutch plate is worn out.

Who are a lot of city riding or riding in jams, their clutch plates wear or wear out quickly. There is no specific time that it wears out after 1000 or 500 km. Its stability depends on the efficiency of the shipment.

In the beginning, it is a bit difficult to change the gear while riding the bike or to run the bike by shifting the gear well. But, the truth is, it’s a very easy job if you have a mild understanding of bike clutches, pickups, and gears and can practice. Then you can get into the right gear at the right time on your own accord.
