Many times we notice that the air filter is oily while cleaning or changing the air filter of the bike. Sounds like oil is getting into the air filter somehow.

Surprisingly, the air filter has nothing to do with the engine or the fuel tank. Although the function of the air filter is to clean the air and enter it into the engine. But there is no possibility of oil coming through this line to the air filter.

But notice that the air filter is completely oily. It looks like oil is getting in there somehow. The question is, how did the oil get to the air filter? Where did it come from? From the fuel tank or from the engine?

The answer is that the bike’s fuel tank has no connection at the farthest point from the air filter through which the fuel will come. The fuel will actually come directly from the engine. But how?

how to fix oil in air filter

The reason is very simple. Fuel can come due to some reasons, among them I will discuss with you the main 3 reasons…

If you give more engine oil:

The job of engine oil is to keep the engine slippery, to keep the engine cool. A misconception is seen among many biker brothers that if the engine oil is given a little more, the engine work is easier. Many people think that if the engine oil is given more, the bike can be run for more kilometers

Basically engine oil has viscosity or performance up to a certain km. After that it doesn’t work anymore. When its effectiveness is lost, the oil is all at once, not slowly or in parts. So more engine oil is no use. In addition, this oil enters the air filter.

The job of the air filter is to get clean air into the engine. This air and fuel are burned together to produce energy. Many times the amount of air that enters the engine remains in the engine due to unburned amount of air. This toxic air returns to the air filter through another line to remove it. The air filter cleans this air again and supplies it to the engine.

If you ride the bike at high RPM:

If you regularly ride the bike at high RPM and indulge in top speed, even if you give the right amount of engine oil to your bike, engine oil will come in the air filter.

The first condition for top speed is to go to the end of the RPM in each gear and enter the next gear. Means overall RPM. The higher the RPM, the faster the engine will rev. And engine oil will spread to different parts due to engine running. The contaminated air will then flow through the cleaning line to the engine well air filter.

    Servicing Time:

Many of us regularly clean our air filters, and it’s a good practice. Water gets stuck in the air filter during service or bike wash.

And if you ride the bike in this wet condition, the dust gets stuck in the air filter and gives a squeaky feeling.

In fact, the air filter is set with the bike in such a way that no water is supposed to enter during a normal wash. But for some reason this condition can happen if the air filter cover is open or you clean it with water.

    Conclusion

Bikes are loved by everyone. Everyone wants his bike to look good. So many people think it is good or listen to people and do things that bring more bad than good.

Check the Honors Manual before making any decision about the bike. Don’t go anywhere outside of it.
