Everyone who rides a motorcycle knows more or less about engine oil. In various countries, engine oil is known as Mobil. Although this is a brand name of Mobil engine oil. This brand is so popular in different countries that the name of the engine oil has become more popular. Engine oil is the most basic and important component to ensure longevity and proper performance of the motorcycle. Today our topic of discussion is why motor cycle or motor bike engine oil decreases.

    Engine Oil Grade:

Engine oil grade is one of the most controversial issues in Bangladesh. There is no end to the debate about this. Which grade to use, why? Why not do the other one? Such arguments and debates are going on.

But where is the end? The simple answer is to use the engine grade according to the bike, the engine structure of your bike. Before building your motorcycle, manufacturers spend billions of dollars researching and determining what will work best for your engine.

So always use the grade that is written in the user manual of the bike. Many bikes have two manuals. A user manual, a service manual.

Service manuals are usually made in-country and grades are likely to vary. Always give engine oil according to the user manual.

But many people do not want to accept it and instead create controversy. Simply put, use the grade that is written for your bike. You don’t need to know what the other person used.

What exactly is 10W30? : Using engine oil. This 10W30 is a multigrade engine oil, where W is Winter. The number that precedes the W determines how your engine will perform in cold weather.

The lower the number next to W, the better the cold performance. But all things considered, the significance of the number before W is not very high. The real number is the number after W. This refers to the number.

What will be the viscosity of the oil at 100°C? The larger the number, the higher the viscosity of the oil at 100 degrees Celsius. Viscosity is the ability of oil to flow.

Changing the previous number of W is not a problem but changing the next number will affect the performance and durability of the bike.

Because there are small millimeter size gaps inside the engine, through which the oil circulates and the engine gets proper lubrication and the engine stays cool.

If the number after W is changed, the engine will not allow oil to flow properly through the gap, which sounds smooth but has the potential to cause major engine damage in the future.

    Drain Interval:

The term drain interval is closely associated with motorcycle engines. Drain interval refers to how many kilometers you should change the engine oil.

In developed countries drain intervals are much longer and they regularly top up engine oil. But there is no system of top up in our country. And that is the biggest problem here. Another problem has given rise to new debates.

It is very common for the engine oil level to decrease as the motorcycle continues to run. Because a little oil from the side of the piston ring burns inside the engine.

In terms of our country, there is no top up rule. The bike’s manual states a normal drain interval of 6000-10,000 km, keeping in mind the top-up.
But if we drain accordingly, then the engine will not take time to turn twelve. Due to heavy traffic, broken roads, etc., the viscosity of our engine oil deteriorates very quickly. So it is very important to change the engine oil on time.

    Classification:

There are three types of engine oil available in the market. They are – mineral engine oil, synthetic mineral oil and semi synthetic mineral oil. These engine oils are used by understanding the motor bike and judging the pros and cons.

Reasons Why Motorcycle Engine Oil Decreases Over Time

In many countries of the world, i.e. developed countries, the drain interval is very long. Besides, they can regularly top up the engine oil. This service does not exist in our country. It is now common for the engine oil to run down as the motorcycle runs for a longer period of time. The main reason for this is that a little oil burns inside the engine from the side of the piston ring.

Again, if the engine oil is reduced, it affects the sound of the motor bike. 90 to 95 percent of motorcycle users in our country use mineral engine oil. Also many people use synthetic and semi-synthetic engine oils which are mostly mineral derived Group – 3 base oils or Group – 3 blended mineral oils. Mineral oil has a negative side.

And that is when the mineral oil comes in contact with oxygen at this high temperature while the engine is running, it reacts with oxygen in a very slow process to form a new molecule. Basically, this is why the tendency of engine oil to decrease is high. Now the question may come whether the remaining two engine oils i.e. synthetic engine oil and semi synthetic engine oil will reduce the engine oil or not. Yes, it will.

But its amount is very less. That is, if mineral engine oil is used, less than the amount that should be reduced will be reduced in the other two engine oils.

To overcome this engine oil depletion trend, each of the factors discussed above must be mastered. Then it is possible to find the exact reason for the decrease in engine oil without getting involved in controversy.
