Motorcycle brake system is a common part of the bike. It is the main safety system of the bike which makes the bike rideable. The history of brake making is intertwined with the history of bike development.

Although an integral part of the bike, it is actually the protector of the rider’s life. This small and essential part is used to convert the bike’s kinetic energy into heat. This stops the bike from moving.

Today we will discuss about bike disc or brake problem. But before that you should know what brake is.

    Bike disc or brake system:

A third type of brake system is inadequate even for high speed bikes. Some Chinese bikes like Johnson and Kinson or some interesting bikes use such high power brakes. A hydraulic brake system uses a fluid or a special type of fluid to actuate the brakes.

Brake work starts from the master cylinder. The paddle is connected to the master cylinder. When the rider presses the pedal, the hydraulic fluid increases the pressure at a certain point, which in turn pushes the brake piston, causing collision between the brake pad and the wheel, resulting in a complete stop of the bike.

Before knowing the bike disc brake problem, we will know about disc brake care. Disc or brake needs to be taken care of according to some special rules. Let’s take care of these disc brakes.

    Disc Brake Care:

    1) First of all choose the correct brake fluid for the master cylinder. The right side handle bar of the motorcycle has the master cylinder reserve.

    2) Experts think it is better to use DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid. Care should be taken that the brake fluid level does not go below the ‘minimum’ level. If the brake fluid level is abnormally low, check for leaks. Also check the brake system. If the problem still occurs, take it to a workshop.

    3) Dirt and dust build up between brake pads and calipers and discs. They should be cleaned with water and jets. When refilling the master cylinder, always contact the authorized dealers of the motorcycle company.

    4) Do not mix dot 3 or dot 4 brake fluid for brake fluid.

The wire indicator groove on each pad of disc type brakes should be checked. If the wire limit groove of the pad reaches its cornice, the brake pad must be replaced. Actually the condition of the brake pads depends on the usage. Depends on how you ride the motorcycle and the road conditions. Brake pad life also depends on how you brake.

After applying the brakes, press the rear and front brakes together to prevent the motorcycle from skidding.

Now let’s go back to the main discussion. The topic of our discussion today is what exactly can cause a problem with the bike’s brakes or discs. Let’s know why there may be a problem with the brake or disc of the bike.

Reasons for bike disc or brake problems:

    Overheating:

Overheating is the main cause of bike disc or brake problems. Overheating causes the bike’s disc brakes to bind. Due to excessive heat such problems occur in the disc or brake of the bike.

    Grabbing:

One of the problems with bike brakes is grabbing or sticking. Bike disc brakes need to be cleaned every few days. If not cleaned, the disc or brake of the bike gets jammed. As a result, the disc brake of the bike can get stuck at any time.

    Brake Fluid:

We use a type of fluid in brakes. This is because the brakes are dirty and do not jam. But this fluid can be dangerous to the brakes. This is why the brake fluid level needs to be checked regularly. And if you can’t do this test yourself, you can take it at the service center. Many people use such fluids to ease the brakes but don’t know that excessive use of these fluids can damage the bike’s desk or brakes.

    Brake Air System:

Air is used in the braking system of our motorcycle or bike. But many times this air does not play an effective role. Because sometimes excess air gets inside the braking system. And because of this, the possibility of accidents can also increase. So it is necessary to be aware of the brake air system. This air system or air can cause bike disc brake problems.

    Master Cylinder:

The oil level in the master cylinder should be checked regularly. If the amount of oil in the master cylinder is too low or too high, then there may be a problem with the disc or brake of the bike.

    Plate and Disc Pad:

Motorcycle or bike brake problems can occur due to plate and disc pads of motorcycle or bike. For this reason plate and disc pads should be checked regularly. Due to the cracks in them, the disc or brake of the bike may go bad.

    Brake Lever:

Bike brake or disc problem due to brake lever. There is no option to check the sliding pin regularly. If the pin is bad, there is a problem with the brake.

    Tuning:

If there is a problem with the tuning of the bike, it can slowly get stuck in the brakes or discs. So it is important to keep the tuning of the bike right. Because the tuning of the bike is not right, the disk may have problems.

    Rotor:

Brake pads apply pressure to the rotor instead of the wheel, and this pressure is transmitted hydraulically rather than by cables. But if it gets disturbed then there is a problem with the disc of the bike.

    Piston:

Pistons play an important role in disc brakes. Because this system requires the help of the piston to complete the work of the brake. Similarly, if there is a problem in the piston of the bike, then it causes a problem in the disk of the bike.

From the above discussion we know what can cause problems in the bike disc. So if we know and are aware of these reasons, we can easily get rid of or prevent bike disc (brake) problems.
